Great Falls - Fun on Center Lines

mmmk... 'Po come up enough for Center Lines, which is maybe the best way to start the week. I rolled on over after work, met up with Sean Devine for one lap, and then headed out... for my last week in WDC, this is truly a treat. Anyway, I don't have much else to say, so here are a few quick photos:

Sean runs Grace Under Pressure, cleans it.

yours truly feelin' the stomp love

on our way out we saw local legend Tom leading a young compadre down Fishladder. They both slayed it -- I picked a weird spot to shoot from... but here ya go:

AT Eddy - Spawned of Dieties

Ok... this one has been a long time a'comin' - I've been meaning to post something on the new AT Eddy paddle un-veiled at OR this year. Let's start with a haiku poem:

red blades go windmill,

exuberate lightning from gods,

baby hit cruise control.

If the whole kayaking-bum thing doesn't work out then I'm banking on a future in literature. Future = dismal.

I got the chance to use one of these bad boys when I was out west for my mini-epic-Oregon adventure (props, AT, take a bow). My initial reasoning was something like "sweet, don't have to use the break-down I smuggled into my carry-on..." but I started to like the thing by the end of the week.

I've always used a straight shaft paddle, but given the opportunity to switch to a bent shaft I'd do it in a heartbeat. The difference to me is mainly that my torso feels less rigid. Whenever I plant a stroke I usually try and move my boat/body to meet the blade---using the bent shaft makes it easier to do that. My forearms and wrists feel like they're in the right place at all times, and it all adds up to some good hustle and flow.

Alright, that's enough banter from me. Looking forward to Gauleyfest this weekend! Go try a bent shaft... pick up an AT Eddy if you can. I'm pretty sure everyone is going to like this paddle. a lot.

quick, find someone with $329 to loan you.
